Piotr Domalewski’s „Nasza rewolucja” comes to Polish Film Festival North America 2026 fresh from its Polish release on 11 November.

The film sits inside one of the best-known marriages in modern Polish history: Jacek Kuroń and his wife Grażyna, known to everyone as Gajka. In the 1980s their Warsaw flat was a newsroom, a meeting point and a shelter for the democratic opposition — which meant that their private life all but disappeared into the cause they served.

What Domalewski follows is not the politics but what the politics cost. Surveillance. Separations. Imprisonment. The shock of martial law. And a marriage that held.

Arkadiusz Jakubik plays Kuroń, with Magdalena Popławska as Gajka, Jacek Koman as Marek Edelman and Andrzej Andrzejewski as Lech Wałęsa. Running time: 2 hours 5 minutes.

For audiences in North America who followed Solidarity from a distance — and for the generation that has only read about it — this is a chance to see the years from the inside of one apartment.
