„Przepis na Święta” reaches Polish cinemas on 6 November 2026 — the same day Polish Film Festival North America opens. We could not have arranged the timing better if we had tried.
Ida bakes, and dreams of a patisserie of her own. Her life takes a turn when she meets Piotr, a bank director whose world could hardly be further from hers. Then Piotr’s ten-year-old son arrives, and what looked like a straightforward romance turns into a far less obvious arrangement of feelings — with Christmas closing in.
Directed by Magdalena Nieć, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Katarzyna Stachowicz-Gacek. In the cast: Zofia Jastrzębska, Piotr Stramowski, Sonia Mietielica and Wiktor Wieczorek.
For families coming to the festival together, this is the easy choice of the programme — and the one most likely to put everyone in the mood for December.
