An extraordinary evening celebrating Polish cinema on the American stage.
Polish Film Festival North America 2026 opens on Friday, November 6 at 7:00 PM at the Pickwick Theatre in Park Ridge, with the U.S. premiere of „Lalka” — one of the most ambitious Polish productions of the year. Bolesław Prus’s timeless story returns to the screen in a spectacular new adaptation by Maciej Kawalski, starring Marcin Dorociński, Kamila Urzędowska and Marek Kondrat, with Krystyna Janda, Maja Ostaszewska, Borys Szyc and Andrzej Seweryn among the cast.
The evening will be made even more memorable by the presence of our special guest, Jan Englert — an acclaimed actor, director and educator, for many years the artistic director of the National Theatre in Warsaw, and one of the most distinguished figures in Polish culture. He also appears in the film, as the Prince.
Join us for an elegant celebration filled with red-carpet moments, encounters with artists and the excitement of a major cinematic premiere. Together we will officially open another remarkable edition of the festival.
