What would you do if a Picasso turned up on the wall of your apartment?
Mary accidentally discovers a drawing of a mermaid in her small Warsaw flat. Everything suggests it was left by Pablo Picasso himself during his visit to the city in 1948. The initial delight quickly gives way to events that turn her life upside down. The discovery also stirs her neighbor Radomski, a retired journalist who remembers the artist’s visit — for him the mermaid means a return to the past and to matters he would rather have left behind. Inspired by a true story, Janusz Zaorski’s film blends humor with reflection on memory, human relationships and the extraordinary power of art to enter the most ordinary lives. Poland, 2026, comedy-drama, 95 min. In Polish with English subtitles.
